Local MP Robbie Moore has visited Keighley-based adult day care centre, The Big Soup Theatre Group, to meet the team and for a tour of the facilities.
The Big Soup Theatre Group provides alternative daytime occupations to adults with learning disabilities and autism, offering a friendly, people-centred service and a range activities in state-of-the-art facilities.
The centre gives adults with special needs a space to get involved in engaging activities, allowing them to build up confidence and embrace their unique skillset in a bespoke environment. The facilities include a sensory room, media suite, arts and production room, salon and theatre with a professional stage area.
Visitors and users of the space can also enjoy a range of food and drink at the Big Soup Bistro, which also provides a space for people interested in catering where they can gain hands-on experience of working in a kitchen, which regularly serves over 70 people each lunchtime.
Commenting on the visit, Robbie Moore MP said:
“It was so great to meet the team and have a tour of the incredible facilities at The Big Soup Theatre Group.
“It was great to see first-hand the incredible services and opportunities provided there to adults with special educational needs, and to learn how valuable such services are to the parents and carers of the users of Big Soup Theatre.
As our town's MP, I will continue to champion better support and services for SEND children and families at every level.
“A big thank you to the team for inviting me – and please do check out their website here: https://www.bigsouptheatregroup.co.uk/”
