"Last Month, I had the pleasure of meeting Ilkley resident Emma Moscrop down in Parliament at Parkinson's UK World Parkinsonâs Day event. Emma was diagnosed with Parkinson's aged 46 - yet in spite of her diagnosis, Emma has been doing all she can to make the world a better place to be for the many different faces living with Parkinsonâs.
Hosting fundraising events, lobbying for positive change and volunteering as Co-ordinator of the Parkinson's UK Yorkshire and Humber Younger Person's Support Group (YHYPSG), Emma is a real credit to our community and a true local hero. Please do consider getting involved with or donating to Emma's charity walk this Saturday for YHYPSG by visiting  https://www.justgiving.com/page/emma-moscrop-1708689587059
This yearâs theme for World Parkinsonâs Day is âthere isnât one face of Parkinsonâsâ, highlighting the wide range of experiences of life with the condition, the different symptoms and how quickly the condition can fluctuate. So this Parkinsonâs day, I want to pay tribute to all those living with Parkinsonâs across our area and beyond - including local heroes like Emma.Â
Together, we can find a cure.
