Keighley MP Robbie Moore has reacted to Bradford Council plans to close the Keighley Household Waste and Recycling site on Royd Ings Avenue, calling the plans for closure "ridiculous".
Speaking about the plans, Robbie Moore MP said:
"It is infuriating to hear that Bradford Council are considering closing our Household Waste and Recycling site at Royd Ings Avenue in Keighley.
Such a decision will cause a huge inconvenience to many of my constituents who pay their hard earned Council Tax which helps support such a service to operate. This again just illustrates that Labour run Bradford Council are not making decisions in the best interest of our town.
The risks of such a decision are that fly-tipping may increase unnecessarily diverting resources from the £450,000 of funding the government allocated earlier this year for local authorities targeted specifically at stopping fly-tipping in our area, as well as cutting a vital service for my constituents. The council claim to be focused on clean air - what about clean streets? ”
Bradford Council need to keep the site open and scrap their ridiculous plans for closure."
