Steeton farm shop celebrates second birthday with local sampling event

Hawkcliffe Farm Produce, run by local farmers Sarah and Dan Thompson, recently celebrated its second birthday with a special sampling event for local customers, attended by local MP Robbie Moore.

Mr Moore visited the farm shop to celebrate the milestone with Sarah, Dan and the team, and to hear more about the business, which, as it reaches its second birthday, continues to go from strength to strength.

Located between Utley and Steeton, Hawkcliffe Farm Produce is a real local gem, selling some of the finest home-grown beef, alongside other locally sourced meats, including chicken, pork and lamb, all proudly sourced from across Yorkshire.

Their ‘Meat and Tatie Shed’ also offers a fantastic selection of fresh vegetables and baked goods, alongside a range of delicious local produce, including Brymor Ice Cream, Grandma Wild’s biscuits and Herd & Hive honey and soap.

During Mr Moore’s visit, Sarah explained the thinking behind the sampling event, which was designed to showcase the fantastic local suppliers stocked at Hawkcliffe Farm Produce, while giving customers the opportunity to try the products before they buy.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate two successful years of the farm produce business and recognise the hard work of Sarah, Dan and their team, while showcasing the wealth of outstanding producers and suppliers Yorkshire has to offer.

Commenting on the celebrations, owner Sarah Thompson said:

It’s been a wonderful 3 days celebrating our award-winning farm shop’s 2nd birthday! We’ve been treating our fabulous existing and new customers to our tasty home-bred beef burgers, sausages and lots of our great Yorkshire suppliers’ products!

We are very proud to support the local community with our home-bred beef and locally sourced meats and produce, and are going from strength to strength.

We are opening an extra day on Mondays 10-6 as well as Friday 10-6, Saturday and Sunday 10-4. Please kindly visit our farm shop at some point.
